About Me

I was born and raised in Metro Detroit. Now, I live in Southern California where I work as the Lead Tools Programmer at Ready At Dawn Studios. Previously, I was a Gameplay Programmer at a small Sourcebits owned studio called fineOrange in Rochester, MI.

I have a interest in Technical Art and Tools Programming. I also dabble in Graphics and Game Engine Programming. Most of my interest lies in interactive and real-time 3D applications such as video games and simulations.

I am a graduate of Purdue University, where I majored in Computer Graphics Technology and minored in Computer Science. During my senior year at Purdue, I worked in a group of 4 to develop a real-time GPU raytracer using Nvidia CUDA and OptiX. It was a hacky mess. In April 2012 I had an article published in the IGDA Perspectives newsletter on the topic of the project and real-time ray tracing in general. In March 2012, I was chosen by the IGDA to attend SXSW in Austin, TX as an IGDA Scholar and again in June 2012 for E3 in Los Angeles, CA.

Apart from all the game development and programming stuff, I play the drums, skateboard (poorly), and attempt to drive cars on racetracks without crashing. I currently drive a 2013 Vortech Supercharged Subaru BRZ and previously owned a 2006 Subaru Impreza WRX STi, 2006 Subaru Impreza 2.5i, and 1994 Mazda MX-5 Miata. Feel free to ask me about any of these topics, but make sure to allocate at least an hour of free time.
